Li De is a freelance performing artist & choreographer currently based in Hong Kong.



Li De was born in 1988 and raised in Guangzhou, China. At the age of 12, he was selected to attend Guangdong Dance School from where he graduated in 2007. Subsequently, he was invited to audition for the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and then offered a full scholarship to the academy’s 4-year dance program. Li De graduated in 2011 with first class honors & a Bachelor of Fine arts in Dance.



Li’s performance debut was in 2011, when he danced in notorious choreographer Xing Lian’s “Pulsate” piece, which was showcased at the Hong Kong Cultural Center. Since then, Li has danced in and created performances for many other companies & festivals, including the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts, Hong Kong City Dance Company, Taipei Kuandu Arts Festival,Mindelcat Theatre Arts Festival, Edinburgh International Fringe Festival ,Internationale.Tanzmesse nrw 2016 German,The International Chinese Festival in Singapore and Seoul International DanceFestival.In the summer of 2018, Li joined the director Robert Willson’s artist summer program at Watermill Center New York,as a guess performer in Cocorosie’s performance and played ‘Iago’in Robert Willson’s <Ottelo>at Watermill Center open day.

Li De has been described as a talent to watch in the worlds of contemporary dance and performing arts in Hong Kong.
